This Major League Baseball offseason has been one for the books as numerous big-name free agents have signed with new teams for the 2025 season.
Some of the big starting pitcher-free agents to switch teams include Corbin Burnes going to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Blake Snell going to the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Max Fried going to the New York Yankees.
With many starting pitcher-free agents now off the board, one interesting name remains.
Roki Sasaki is a 23-year-old starting pitcher who is coming over to the MLB from Japan as a free agent, and multiple teams have reportedly been interested in him.
According to Sasaki’s agent Joel Wolfe via Foul Territory on ‘X,’ 20 MLB teams initially reached out with interest in Sasaki.

Sasaki is one of the top and most interesting starting pitcher-free agents still available this offseason.
In 2024 for his overseas team, Sasaki appeared in 18 games where he held a record of 10-5 with a 2.35 ERA and 129 strikeouts in 111.0 innings pitched.
While the Dodgers have reportedly been the favorite all offseason long to sign Sasaki, the report from Wolfe shows that over half of the teams in the MLB are interested.
The Dodgers would make sense for Sasaki due to fellow Japanese-born starting pitchers Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto also being on the roster.
Sasaki will be one of the names to keep an eye on as the offseason progresses to see which team he wants to join for the 2025 season.
While the Dodgers are still the likely favorite, a dark horse team could always swoop in and make the final move.
