Anthony Davis entered the NBA at 19 years old.
He’s been in the league for 13 years now, and he’s won almost everything a player could win.
He’s a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate and is regarded as one of the best two-way players of all time.
However, as undeniably impactful as he is, he’s always had some issues with injuries and a lack of consistency.
He doesn’t always show the kind of aggressive mindset that fans would love to see from him on a nightly basis.
Davis is playing his best and most aggressive brand of basketball, and he’s been the clear-cut No. 1 player for the Lakers.
When asked about his message to Davis before the start of the season, Coach Redick was honest and clear: Win MVP (via Jovan Buha).

The Lakers’ record could stand in his way, as they have flirted with .500 for most of the young season.
But if we talk about numbers alone, Davis should definitely be one of the leading candidates right now.
Davis is currently averaging a league-leading 32.4 points per game to go along with 11.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and a couple of blocks per game on 56.9% from the floor.
Redick also wanted Davis to be a more confident three-point shooter, which hasn’t been the case thus far.
Even still, he has to be very satisfied with his star player in the first eight games of the season.
