After missing the first nine weeks of the 2024 NFL season, superstar running back Christian McCaffrey was able to get back on the football field this past Sunday and help the San Francisco 49ers get a much-needed win over Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Although McCaffrey didn’t make a major impact in the running game on Sunday on the road against the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium, rushing for only 39 yards on 13 carries, the versatile back did end the day with over 100 yards from scrimmage, catching six passes for 68 receiving yards.
Ultimately, the 49ers were able to come out on top in Tampa Bay, with star quarterback Brock Purdy connecting with rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall and veteran tight end George Kittle on a pair of touchdown passes.
On Monday, legendary head coach Bill Belichick shared his thoughts about McCaffrey and seems to think highly of the superstar running back via The Pat McAfee Show.
“I don’t think Christian McCaffrey gets enough credit for his inside running,” Belichick said. “He’s very good at setting up blocks, and he accelerates through the hole. He’s really impressive, and I have a lot of respect for his toughness.”

With the win over the Buccaneers, the 49ers improved to 5-4 on the season, putting them over .500 while providing hope for Kyle Shanahan’s squad that the second half of the 2024 campaign could be promising, to say the least.
In Week 11, the 49ers will return to Levi’s Stadium to take on the division-rival Seattle Seahawks in a crucial divisional game.
