The Pittsburgh Steelers have been one of the most consistent teams in the NFL ever since they made Mike Tomlin the head coach of the storied franchise, as he’s done nothing but win with all the players that have come and gone over the years.
Although Tomlin has an uncanny knack for being able to lead the Steelers to the NFL playoffs regardless of the personnel on the football field, the team’s brass seemed to get tired of making the playoffs and then getting bounced right away.
That said, the Steelers made a point of upgrading the quarterback position during the NFL offseason, with the offense being the biggest concern for the franchise moving forward because Kenny Pickett wasn’t getting the job done in the post-Ben Roethlisberger era.
Fortunately, Pittsburgh had options, and they put them to use by signing veteran Russell Wilson and trading for Justin Fields, giving the Steelers some much-needed depth under center.
Despite both players having some time under center this season, the results have been the same, with Wilson and Fields helping the team get wins and propelling them to the top of the AFC North division standings.
With Pittsburgh playing at a high level, Mike Greenberg of ESPN believes Tomlin is the NFL Coach of the Year right now via ESPN Radio.
“He’s got two quarterbacks nobody wanted, and he’s winning with both of them!” Greenberg said.

If the Steelers go on to win the AFC North division title and head into the playoffs with a high seed in the conference, Tomlin will have a solid case to win the regular-season award.
However, he will have no shortage of competition with Andy Reid (Kansas City Chiefs), Dan Campbell (Detroit Lions) and Dan Quinn (Washington Commanders), among others, having a legitimate shot of winning the award as well.
