Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers is having perhaps the greatest rookie season for a tight end in NFL history despite his Raiders being tied for the worst record in the league at 2-10.
One analyst went even one step further and made a bold statement about the year Bowers is having.
Pete Prisco said on CBS that “he is the best tight end in the league RIGHT NOW” and pointed out how Bowers has a chance to have the greatest receiving year ever by a tight end.

Zach Ertz has the record for receptions by a tight end in a season with 116, and Travis Kelce has the single-season record for receiving yards at 1,416, both of which are within Bowers’ grasp if he can stay hot down the stretch.
The yards will be tough, but the 116 receptions are possible, as Bowers currently leads the NFL with 84 catches on just 113 targets.
Expectations for Bowers were high after being selected with the 13th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but tight ends aren’t generally expected to produce much during their first few years in the league.
That hasn’t been the case at all with Bowers.
He has been a star from the minute he stepped onto an NFL field, and now that he has emerged as the team’s top receiving threat following the trade of Davante Adams, he has been producing bigger and bigger numbers as the year has progressed.
Bowers has been one of the few bright spots for Raiders fans this season, and it’ll be fun to see if he can break some of these records.
