Kirk Cousins has always been a polarizing subject among NFL fans.
While he’s clearly a good quarterback, there have always been doubts about whether he can lead a team when it matters the most.
He’s often struggled in primetime games and against winning teams, with a few exceptions.
That’s why some people have always wondered how he got those huge contracts, and now that the Atlanta Falcons paid him a lot of money in the offseason, questions about his performances are emerging again.
Even so, the Falcons have no intention to turn their backs on him right now.
According to a report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the team doesn’t even believe there should be a discussion about Cousins being benched.

As much as they’ve reportedly been very impressed by Michael Penix Jr., they want him to be their quarterback for the future, not the present.
Moreover, they still believe Cousins will bounce back from this slump and that he gives them the best chance to compete right now.
Cousins is coming off one of the worst games of his career, throwing four interceptions.
He’s thrown six picks over the past three games.
The Falcons got off to a strong start to the season, but they could now see their playoff hopes slip right through their fingers.
Cousins will now play on a familiar ground when he visits his former team, the Minnesota Vikings, and it’ll be interesting to see how he fares against them.
