Kobe Bryant was an NBA superstar who wasn’t afraid of anyone.
He also wasn’t afraid of pushing his teammates and getting the most out of them.
Speaking on his show, Gilbert Arenas said that Bryant tested his teammates every single day.
He felt that if his teammates were scared of him, they’d be scared of opponents too.
So, he wanted players who were driven and ready to battle hard without being intimidated.
Arenas pointed out that the players who stepped up against Bryant, such as Metta World Peace and Matt Barnes, later found a spot on the Los Angeles Lakers alongside him.
That’s not a coincidence, Arenas said.
“Every time you walk into practice, every time you see him, he’s testing you.”

Bryant was 110% in everything that he did.
It didn’t matter if he was playing in the Olympics, the Finals, or just a regular practice with the Lakers, Bryant was going to put all of himself into the game.
And he expected the same from the men he was playing with.
He didn’t want to work with stars who were easily fearful, especially if they showed it.
He knew that basketball was a mind game in many ways and that opponents would take full advantage of that.
Many former teammates have said that Bryant was always testing his fellow Lakers stars and constantly watching and assessing them.
The game never stopped for him, and that was part of his “Mamba Mentality.”
He truly was a fearless player, and he wanted the rest of his team to feel the same way.
That may seem too demanding to some people, but it resulted in multiple titles, so Bryant obviously knew what he was talking about.
