Many assumed that Bill Belichick, an eight-time Super Bowl champion, would return to the NFL sideline, perhaps as soon as next season, with many enticing openings already available.
Belichick instead opted to return to school and recently took over as the head coach at the University of North Carolina to turn around their football program.
The question now turns to the rest of his coaching staff, as he reportedly has his eye on one NFL offensive coordinator as his “top choice.”
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shared on NFL Gameday that one of Belichick’s top choices for offensive coordinator is Scott Turner, the current OC with the Las Vegas Raiders.

With the nightmarish season the Raiders have had, thanks to cycling through three quarterbacks, none of whom are the franchise QB, the Raiders will likely be selecting a new signal-caller atop the 2025 draft, which often means a new regime is coming as well.
No coach in Vegas should feel safe at the moment, and if Belichick wants Turner at UNC, he’ll likely get what he wants as long as Turner wants the same thing.
Belichick has stated he wants to turn UNC into an NFL pipeline by teaching his players all about what it means to be a professional both on and off the field, and it will be interesting to see what coaches he brings alongside him to make that happen.
