The New York Jets had high hopes and expectations heading into the 2024 NFL season.
After Aaron Rodgers’ first year with the team effectively ended before it had the chance to start, people were optimistic that the Jets were going to be a playoff contender this year.
That has not been the case thus far, causing a lot of internal turmoil and strife for the organization, which included getting rid of head coach Robert Saleh and GM Joe Douglas.
The Jets will need to replace both positions ahead of the 2025 season.
They haven’t publically started a search for a new head coach, but the team did announce that Thomas Dimitroff, a former GM for the Atlanta Falcons, interviewed for their opening at GM.
We have completed an interview with Thomas Dimitroff for our General Manager vacancy.

Dimitroff was with the Falcons from 2008-2020, and before that, spent time with the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, and Detroit Lions.
One of the reasons that fans and analysts were excited about the Jets was their roster, and having a strong GM like Dimitroff can only help improve their roster moving forward.
Rodgers’ future with the organization is unclear, but if a new GM helps make strong decisions over the offseason, perhaps the Jets will become a playoff contender like many believed they’d be.
If things go south, the Jets will likely continue their playoff drought, which remains the longest in the NFL.
