The top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft is arguably Travis Hunter, the excellent two-way star from the University of Colorado who recently won the Heisman Trophy.
He plays both cornerback and wide receiver, as his head coach Deion Sanders once did, but just about everyone feels Hunter will have to focus on one of those two positions in the pros.
UCLA offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, who was the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive coordinator from 2018 to 2022, recently revealed how he would use Hunter.
“I want him to play receiver for me. … I think the kid can be an outstanding receiver. But you got to pick and choose a side,” Bieniemy said on “The Herd.”

Hunter transferred to Colorado prior to last season, and in 12 games this season, he has caught 92 passes for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns.
He became the first player in college football history to win both the Chuck Bednarik Award, which is given to the nation’s top defensive player, and the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s best wide receiver.
Playing both sides of the ball takes a lot out of an athlete, and though it is done often at the high school level and at times at the college level, doing so in the NFL likely isn’t feasible.
Sanders started his NFL career as a cornerback and kick returner, but after dabbling at receiver had to focus mainly on defense and give up most of his duties on offense.
