The chances of Jimmy Butler leaving the Miami Heat for the Phoenix Suns seem to be diminishing by the day.
The Suns are reportedly interested in trading for Butler, but they aren’t willing to move quickly and they aren’t willing to give the Heat what they want.
According to reporting from Evan Sidery, the Heat have “no interest” in acquiring Bradley Beal in any potential trade with the Suns.

Moving Beal in a Butler trade was already a difficult task for Phoenix’s front office and it’s now become even tougher.

If Phoenix wants Butler, they will have to convince Beal to waive his no-trade clause to another destination. pic.twitter.com/XHISh2D8Y2

Beal has emerged as a part of any trade package for Butler, but Phoenix wouldn’t be able to ship him away with ease.
He is one of the few NBA players who has a no-trade clause written into his contract.
That means he can only leave the Suns if he agrees to the trade, and they have to pass everything by him.
Few teams want to take on a player who has a no-trade clause, and that could kill any deal right away.
On top of that, the Heat weren’t into the idea of trading for Beal a few seasons ago and they haven’t budged on that position.
So if the Suns want to do business with the Heat, they will need to include another team that isn’t afraid of Beal and his unique contract.
Of course, they can also convince him to get rid of his no-trade clause, but that seems unlikely.
For a brief moment, it felt like there was some momentum between the Suns and Heat but it now seems like a possible Butler trade has slowed to crawl and could be completely dead in the water.
