The New York Jets are in the market for a new head coach and have been conducting a wide-ranging search, leaving no stone unturned.
One name mentioned lately is former Jets head coach Rex Ryan, who recently interviewed with the team.
However, a recent report suggested that the team has already decided whether to bring Ryan back to the sidelines.
SNY reporter Connor Hughes shared, “Rex Ryan, I heard, is completely out, that is not gonna happen with the Jets.”

The team hadn’t made the playoffs since 2010 when Ryan led the Jets to the AFC Championship game, so it would only make sense for them to consider bringing him back since they haven’t had any success since he left.
The Jets didn’t get any better after firing Robert Saleh during this season, and Ryan was believed to be a leading candidate to take over as head coach, so this is a surprising turn of events if it turns out to be true.
Ryan even alluded to his candidacy on ESPN on Sunday when he said during the program’s NFL pregame show that he was looking forward to beating Mike Vrabel twice a year now that Vrabel is the head coach of the New England Patriots.
At this point, there is no word on who the leading candidate is, as the Jets could still be early in the process and just going through as many names as they can before narrowing down a list.
