The Major League Baseball offseason seems to deliver a new signing daily as teams are bearing down on the final big-name players left in the free agent class.
A specific position has seen a lot of moves made lately, but one big-time slugger remains available at the position.
Many teams have acquired new first basemen for their rosters this offseason, but Pete Alonso of the New York Mets remains unsigned and available via free agency.
MLB Analyst Harold Reynolds revealed two teams that would make sense for Alonso to sign with.
“Seattle clearly needs an upgrade, I can see that, I can see the Mets,” Reynolds said via MLB Network on ‘X.’

Alonso, who is now 30 years old, remains unsigned after having another solid year with the Mets in 2024.
The right-handed power hitter played in all 162 games in 2024 and batted .240 with 34 home runs, 88 RBIs, and a .788 OPS.
One of the reasons Reynolds thinks he remains unsigned is due to the amount of money Alonso wants in a new contract.
While many teams could likely afford to sign Alonso, nobody has pulled the trigger as of yet.
The Mariners have been in the news a lot recently about needing a major upgrade in offensive players, but the question remains if they are willing to give Alonso the money he is asking for.
Alonso will be one first baseman to keep an eye on as the offseason moves forward and the availability at the position declines.
