For over 20 years, Turner Sports’ “Inside the NBA” has become an institution for its entertainment value and meme-worthy moments.
But not everyone is a fan of the show, and Jason McIntyre feels it hasn’t exactly been a good thing for the league.
While on “The Herd w/ Colin Cowherd,” he actually said the show has done more harm than good because, in his view, it constantly trashes players and the league itself.
“This take probably won’t be very popular, but I would argue that ‘Inside the NBA,’ the show that everybody loves, has done more damage to the NBA the last decade than anything,” he said.

This may be a hyperbolic take, but there does seem to be some truth to it.
Charles Barkley, who was a Hall of Fame forward in the 1980s and 1990s, is the biggest draw on “Inside the NBA,” and he does have the occasional habit of using pejorative terms to describe players and teams that aren’t doing well.
But overall, the show continues to be a major ratings bonanza.
Next season, the NBA will start a new media contract, which will involve NBC televising games for the first time since 2002, but Turner Sports will lose the rights it has held for decades.
However, NBA fans rejoiced at the news that “Inside the NBA” will continue to be produced and aired thanks to a unique agreement.
That means that Barkley and co-hosts Kenny Smith, Shaquille O’Neal and Ernie Johnson will put off retirement for at least a little longer.
