The Chicago Bears headed into Week 12’s matchup against the division-rival Minnesota Vikings desperately needing to get a win after losing four straight games.
Although the Bears have shown flashes of brilliance this season with rookie quarterback Caleb Williams under center, the team simply hasn’t been the same after a disappointing last-second loss to the Washington Commanders due to a hail mary touchdown pass by fellow rookie Jayden Daniels.
Along with the team not being the same since the loss to the Commanders, the Vikings are one of the best teams in the league this season, with Sam Darnold resurrecting his career in Minnesota while leading them to eight wins in 10 games before this divisional matchup.
Ultimately, the game was forced into overtime as the result of an impressive comeback in the fourth quarter by the Bears, but the Vikings eventually prevailed.
Williams, however, had arguably the play of the game, making this incredible throw on the run to running back D’Andre Swift via the NFL’s X account.

In the end, the Bears came away with their fifth straight loss, but it was a promising sign that this team might not be too far behind some of the best teams in the league, with Williams having a solid performance against the division rivals in Chicago.
Williams finished with 370 yards from scrimmage with three touchdowns and zero interceptions, which is a step in the right direction for the rookie phenom who has taken a lot of criticism over the course of his first season in the NFL.
