The NFL playoffs are here, bringing with them the electric anticipation of postseason football.
Seven teams from each conference are in the tournament, each pursuing the ultimate prize of Super Bowl glory.
Some aim to fulfill years of playoff promise, while others mark their return to the big stage ready to prove themselves.
Standing above them all are the Kansas City Chiefs, eyeing a historic achievement that’s never been accomplished: a third straight Super Bowl title.
With championship aspirations running high, FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd believes only a select few teams have a genuine shot at hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.
“I think five teams can win the Super Bowl,” Cowherd said on “The Herd.”

Cowherd’s picks include the Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions.
His selections feature the top two seeds from each conference along with the AFC’s third seed.
History supports his reasoning. Since 2000, the No. 1 seed has reached the Super Bowl 25 times and claimed the title eight times, according to The Spun.
The storylines surrounding Cowherd’s contenders are compelling.
The Chiefs are pursuing their fifth Super Bowl appearance in six years while chasing that unprecedented three-peat.
The Eagles still carry the sting of a Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs two seasons ago.
Both the Ravens and Bills are looking to overcome recent playoff setbacks against the Chiefs in the AFC.
But perhaps the most intriguing narrative belongs to the Lions, who despite being one of the NFL’s oldest franchises have never reached the Super Bowl.
They came tantalizingly close last season before falling to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship, making this year’s run even more significant.
