There was optimism that the Indianapolis Colts were going to make a run during the 2024 NFL season, but the offense has let them down too often to make that a reality.
At 4-5, the Colts have underwhelmed so far, and head coach Shane Steichen has already made a dramatic move by starting veteran quarterback Joe Flacco over Anthony Richardson.
While Richardson remains the future at the position, the young signal-caller makes too many mistakes on the field to be trusted right now.
Meanwhile, Flacco’s shown how having a capable quarterback who keeps the offense on schedule can keep the team in games.
Flacco is scheduled to start again in Week 10 against the Buffalo Bills, and he’ll have a chance to prove he’s worthy of keeping the job the rest of the way.
Ahead of the matchup, Indianapolis is moving up one wide receiver.
“Colts elevated WR Laquon Treadwell to the active roster from the practice squad for Sunday’s game vs. the Bills,” ESPN insider Adam Schefter wrote on X.

Treadwell’s elevation is in response to an injury to Michael Pittman Jr., who is out, giving the Colts some semblance of depth at the position.
With Pittman out, Flacco is likely to lean on Josh Downs and Alec Pierce to move the football through the air.
They also will feature Jonathan Taylor and the run game quite a bit, especially as a means of keeping Josh Allen and the Bills offense off the field as much as possible.
