The Muskingum football team dropped a heartbreaking season-finale contest at rival Marietta on Saturday afternoon, 21-20.

Notables

The contest marked the 102nd meeting between the two schools. Muskingum leads the all-time series, 52-48-2.
The game marked the annual Shriner Game, which started in 2009 between Muskingum and Marietta. Marietta leads the series, 8-7.

Muskingum orchestrated an 11-play, 65-yard drive late in the fourth quarter that culminated with senior quarterback Doug Crawford hitting senior tight end Gannon Unger for a three-yard touchdown to trim the Muskie deficit to 21-20. The Muskies attempted a two-point conversion to take the lead, but the attempt came up short of the goal line.
Marietta took its final possession with 3:32 on the clock and used eight plays to garner 59 yards and three first downs to end the game.
