The first six weeks of the 2024 NFL regular season didn’t go as planned for the new-look Los Angeles Chargers, as Jim Harbaugh’s squad was only able to split those six games while losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals.
Fortunately for Los Angeles, the Chargers have gone on a hot streak, winning three straight games, with their latest win coming against the Tennessee Titans at SoFi Stadium.
One player that has stood out amongst the rest of the Chargers during this three-game win streak has been superstar quarterback Justin Herbert, who has not only won over Harbaugh, who calls him the toughest quarterback he’s ever seen but he’s also turned some heads regarding the NFL MVP conversation.
Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel believes that Herbert is playing at an MVP level right now, even though he admits the current face of the Chargers franchise won’t win it via The Facility.
“The Chargers are a legitimate threat, mainly because of the defense, but on the other side of the football, what Justin Herbert is doing. … If they keep winning, if you want to take about a dark horse for the MVP, he won’t win it, but I’m telling you, the plays he is making in the game have been elite plays to do it,” Daniel said.

With the second half of the 2024 campaign officially underway, the regular-season award might be Lamar Jackson’s to lose, as he has the Baltimore Ravens firing on all cylinders.
However, anything can happen in the final stretch of the season, especially if Herbert and the Chargers continue their hot streak moving forward.
