Herm Edwards Reveals How He Would Deal With Justin Tucker’s Issues

At one point in time, there was no question about who was the best kicker in the NFL, as Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens held that distinction, with no other player even able to make a strong case otherwise.

Unfortunately for Tucker and the Ravens, that is no longer true, with the veteran starting to show that either Father Time is catching up with him or that he just isn’t the same player he once was.

In Week 13, the Ravens went head-to-head against the red-hot Philadelphia Eagles, which was a measuring stick game and a potential Super Bowl preview between two elite squads.

However, Tucker didn’t help the situation for the Ravens, missing three field-goal attempts, which proved to be costly to Baltimore’s chances of taking down arguably the best team in the NFC.

With Tucker looking like he’s past his prime, former NFL head coach Herm Edwards chimed in on the veteran’s struggles and what he’d do to get him back on track in the final stretch of the 2024 NFL regular season.

“During practice now, unannounced, when you’re practicing, you just blow the whistle and say, ‘Hey, we’re gonna kick a field goal.’ Right in the middle of practice. … You want him to make some kicks in front of the team,” Edwards said, via “The Dan Patrick Show.”

Edwards’ tactic might be the way to go because the Ravens need to do something about their usually dependable kicker due to the fact the team is a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Tucker will be put to the test in the coming weeks, especially in the postseason, as it likely will come down to a game-winning field goal at some point, and the Ravens will need him to come through.
