The Philadelphia Eagles received a dose of mixed news as they prepare for their playoff clash with the Green Bay Packers.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts hit the practice field for the second straight day, signaling he’s close to clearing concussion protocol.
While the quarterback’s return brings relief, A.J. Brown’s absence from practice has raised some eyebrows, and the team reportedly is expected to list it as rest/knee on the injury report.
However, there is some welcome news for Eagles fans, as the wide receiver reportedly should be able to suit up against the Packers.
“He will be DNP for practice today. The Eagles are limiting his workload so he’s as close to 100 percent as possible by Sunday.” Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer wrote on X.

Brown’s knee issue surfaced during Philadelphia’s victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15, but it hardly slowed him down.
He went on to deliver strong performances against the Washington Commanders and the Dallas Cowboys, collecting 11 receptions, 133 yards and two touchdowns before sitting out the regular season finale against the New York Giants.
His importance to the Eagles was evident earlier in the season when they lost twice during his three-game absence with a hamstring injury.
Brown’s history against the Packers bodes well. In Week 1 in Brazil, he had five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, for Hurts, this would be his first start since Dec. 22 at Washington.
After missing two games, his return would provide a significant boost to Philadelphia’s playoff hopes.
