The Sacramento Kings ended a long playoff drought two seasons ago but haven’t been able to sustain that level of success.
Granted, the Western Conference is as stacked as it’ll ever be.
So, if you’re a star player nearing the end of your contract, you might want to reconsider your stay with the Kings.
That’s why one NBA insider believes the Kings are entering a “danger zone” with De’Aaron Fox.
“While league sources say Fox has not asked for a trade, the former All-Star and his prominent agent are reading the room in Sacramento before deciding what comes next,” Sam Amick of The Athletic wrote, via NBACentral.

Kings head coach Mike Brown recently called out Fox and urged him to step up, stating that he’s on the verge of becoming a superstar and, as such, must uplift the team during this tough stretch.
Truth be told, Fox has been in the NBA for almost a decade now, so if he hasn’t become a superstar yet, chances are that might not ever happen.
However, he’s a very good point guard who should have a strong market if made available.
His agent, Rich Paul, is known around the league for always getting his way, and though the Kings don’t necessarily need to trade Fox right now, they could have the leverage in this situation because of his contract.
The Kings are flirting with .500 right now, and though they’re reportedly looking to acquire talent, perhaps they will end up doing the opposite and part with one of their best players.
