Jimmy Butler hasn’t found a new home in the NBA and inside reports have stated that the Miami Heat are having a difficult time getting the sort of trade package they want for him.
That means he may remain in Miami, or a perfect deal could come along before the NBA trade deadline.
According to Kendrick Perkins, the Phoenix Suns definitely want Butler, and they have a monster trade deal waiting for him.
Speaking on the “Road Trippin’ Show,” via NBACentral, Perkins said:
“From my sources… the Suns have a 2-year, $121 million extension waiting on Jimmy… Kevin Durant wants Jimmy Butler, and if he does get Jimmy Butler… they’ll both gonna sign contract extensions.”

The Suns are apparently willing to give Butler a lot of money, all because they want him to play alongside Kevin Durant.
Additionally, if Phoenix can trade for Butler, they would also get Durant to agree to a new extension.
This would give the Suns exactly what they want.
It would also grant Butler a hefty deal and the chance to suit up with his friend, Durant.
It sounds like everyone would win in this situation, but it still might not happen.
That’s because the Heat aren’t going to agree to any deal unless it’s one they are happy with, something that gives them what they desire.
They aren’t too pleased with Butler, so they have no need to make him happy or give in to his demands.
Instead, they will only do business with a front office that brings them players and draft picks that lay the groundwork for a bright future without Butler.
Can the Suns make that happen?
If not, this deal will remain a pipe dream for Phoenix.
