It seems that every season, fans and analysts compare the two NBA conferences and talk about which is better.
This year, Kendrick Perkins believes the difference is clear.
While speaking on “First Take” about the many problems plaguing the Philadelphia 76ers, Perkins said, “The only thing that works in Philadelphia’s favor is how trash the Eastern Conference is.”
That quick comment highlights an opinion that many NBA fans have, but it might not always be this way.

The top team in the East is the best squad in the entire NBA: the Cleveland Cavaliers who have a 12-0 record.
Following them are the 9-2 Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers with a 5-5 record.
After those three teams, everyone else has a losing record.
The Toronto Raptors are the worst with 2-9 while the Milwaukee Bucks are just ahead of them with 2-8.
Meanwhile, over in the West, ten teams have winning records.
Although the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder might not have the record of the Cavaliers, the rest of the conference seems to be much stronger, at least right now.
The season has just started and there is still a lot of time for many Eastern Conference teams to get their acts together and start playing better.
For many fans, all that really matters is that all these teams play fun, exciting basketball, regardless of their records.
Will the 76ers improve and will the rest of the East produce more wins?
Those are a couple of the biggest questions floating around the NBA right now.
