The injury bug that has ravaged the San Francisco 49ers this season may have taken a break lately, as multiple players are nearing a return.
But they’re still dealing with a couple of new, albeit minor, injuries that came up heading into their Week 10 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, star defensive end Nick Bosa suffered a slight injury during practice.
“Kyle Shanahan said Nick Bosa suffered a ‘a little hip pointer’ early in Wednesday’s practice and that made Bosa ‘extremely limited’ through the week. Bosa is officially listed as questionable,” David Lombardi of The San Francisco Standard wrote on X.

Bosa is having a quiet season by his standards, with just 4.5 sacks in eight games, but he continues to be one of the best in the league at pressuring opposing quarterbacks.
In the 2022 season, he was named the Defensive Player of the Year with 48 quarterback hits, 19 tackles for loss and a league-high 18.5 sacks.
The Niners have consistently been one of the NFL’s best defensive teams over the past five years or so, but this year and last, they have taken a step back.
They currently rank 16th in points allowed, 14th in passing yards allowed and 10th in total yards allowed per game.
For most of his career, Bosa has been fairly durable. He played in all 17 games last season, missed just one game in 2022 and played in every game in 2019 and 2021, although he was limited to two games in 2020 because of a torn ACL.
The 49ers are 4-4, but with star running back Christian McCaffrey and other key players on the mend, they could be poised for a hot stretch to close the season.
