While the Detroit Lions are tied for the best record in the NFC at 13-2, they’re dealing with some injuries to key players that have left some doubting they can reach the Super Bowl, let alone win it all.
Defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson, running back David Montgomery and wide receiver Kalif Raymond, among others, are sidelined, and that likely played a role in a Week 15 loss to the Buffalo Bills that could end up costing them the NFC North title.
But there is some good news for the Lions, as Raymond’s practice window has been opened.
“Good to see Kalif Raymond back at Lions practice. The team opened the 21-day practice window for the wide receiver and return man. He’s unlikely to play this week, but it’s another optimistic sign,” Brad Galli of WXYZ Detroit wrote on X.

Raymond is in his fourth season with Detroit, and though his receiving numbers aren’t impressive (he has 204 receiving yards and two touchdowns this season), he does play a key role as their primary punt returner.
In 11 games, he has returned 27 punts for 390 yards and one touchdown.
Overall, Detroit has remained an outstanding offensive team. The Lions rank first in points scored and second in total yards, and have surpassed the 40-point mark in five games while putting up 52 points twice.
After facing the San Francisco 49ers on “Monday Night Football,” the Lions’ final game of the regular season will take place at home against the Minnesota Vikings, who are also 13-2, and it could decide who will have home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.
