The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs were able to pull out another close win on Sunday, as they pulled off a comeback against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, getting the win as a result of a game-winning field goal that bounced in off the uprights.
With the Chiefs getting the win over Justin Herbert and the Chargers, Kansas City is now sitting at 12-1, owning the best record in the AFC and tied for the best record in the league with the Detroit Lions.
Although the Chiefs have only lost one game this season, which came against the rival Buffalo Bills a few weeks ago at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, Kansas City has barely scraped by in the games they’ve won this season.
Outside of wins over the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers, each victory has been a one-score game for the Chiefs, which is a testament to their resiliency but also leaves questions about whether they’ll get the job done in the NFL playoffs this year.
The Chiefs are definitely experienced in figuring out how to get wins in close games, and that might be enough for them to pull off the three-peat, which Marc Spears seems to agree with via NFL on ESPN.
“[The Chiefs] are going to win the games that are played on the margins,” Spears said.

Kansas City will have a few tough matchups in the final four games of the season, as they’ll face the Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Chiefs do in these games and if they can carry over their success to the postseason like they’ve done the past two years, resulting in back-to-back Super Bowl titles.
