The Green Bay Packers are in the NFL playoffs for a second straight year, and they will face a tall task when they begin their postseason with a road game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles went 14-3 during the regular season, and while their passing game has its issues, they may have the best running attack in the entire league, certainly in the NFC.
Along with running back Saquon Barkley, who put his name in the record books with 2,005 rushing yards, quarterback Jalen Hurts has battered opponents with both his arm and his legs.
He threw for 2,903 yards and 18 touchdowns and added 630 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground, meaning that he and Barkley combined for 27 rushing touchdowns.
In Week 1, Green Bay lost to Philadelphia in Brazil, but the Packers were able to limit Hurts’ damage on the ground.
Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley recently commented on that game and what needs to be done with the pass rush this time.
“There’s got to be a little bit of both,” Hafley said, via Ryan Wood of the USA Today Network. “And I think I’ve learned from that.”
#Packers did a good job rushing Jalen Hurts to contain Week 1, but didn’t pressure him much. Jeff Hafley’s thoughts on that: “There’s got to be a little bit of both. And I think I’ve learned from that.”

Few teams have been able to limit Hurts both in the air and on the ground over the past couple of years, and doing so is an absolute necessity if a team wants to conquer the Eagles, especially this season.
After they fell apart in December and January of last season, Philadelphia went through a resurgence this season and seems to have a very real chance of not only reaching the Super Bowl but winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
The Packers are hoping to make that type of run themselves, and their efforts to do so will start by controlling Hurts.
