The Las Vegas Raiders find themselves among six NFL teams searching for a new head coach this offseason after parting ways with Antonio Pierce on Tuesday, ending his one-season stint with the team.
But unlike previous coaching searches, the Raiders have a unique advantage this time around – the input of one of football’s greatest quarterbacks.
Tom Brady, who joined the Raiders as a minority owner, is set to play a significant role in selecting the team’s next head coach.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brady will be part of a “collaborative committee” tasked with interviewing potential candidates, giving him substantial influence over the final decision.
“Raiders limited owner Tom Brady is expected to be part of a collaborative committee to interview head coaching candidates and support team owner Mark Davis, per league sources.” He tweeted.

The 2025 head-coaching market features some intriguing names, with Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel leading the pack.
Brady’s connection with Vrabel runs deep – the two were teammates on the New England Patriots for eight seasons from 2001 to 2008.
However, landing either candidate won’t be straightforward for the Raiders, as they face competition from the New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Jets – three of which already have their franchise quarterbacks in place.
The Raiders are approaching a pivotal offseason following a disappointing 4-13 campaign.
Their quarterback situation remains uncertain, with both Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew under contract for 2025 but neither cementing themselves as the clear starter last season.
While holding the No. 6 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft could potentially address their quarterback needs, the immediate priority is clear – finding a head coach who aligns with Brady’s vision for the team’s future.
