With just two weeks remaining before the postseason begins, the NFL’s upper echelon is continuing to distance itself from the remainder of the league.
Still, some of those dominant teams did not have strong showings in Week 16 as a pair of teams had close contests with other NFL franchises well below them in the league standings.
That’s one reason that NFL legend and analyst Tom Brady shook up his NFL power rankings after Week 16’s action.
Brady listed the Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, and the Philadelphia Eagles as his top five teams in that order after Week 16.

Brady dropped the Eagles to the fifth spot in his power rankings as Philadelphia witnessed its 10-game winning streak being snapped by the Washington Commanders in Week 16.
Additionally, Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts suffered a concussion in the first quarter of his team’s loss, an injury that could keep the player out of upcoming games.
The Bills also dropped in Brady’s power rankings after Buffalo struggled against the AFC East rival New England Patriots in Week 16.
With Philadelphia and Buffalo falling in the rankings, Minnesota claimed the third spot in Brady’s ranking.
The Vikings handed the Seattle Seahawks a 27-24 defeat, earning their eighth-straight win last week.
Detroit also climbed in the rankings after easily dispatching the Chicago Bears 34-17 in NFC North action, allowing the Lions to keep their perfect record intact for road contests this season.
Kansas City remained atop Brady’s power rankings for the second consecutive week after the Chiefs held onto a 27-19 victory over the Houston Texans last Saturday.
